Facades and exterior spaces

Exterior surfaces need attention to exposure, access and substrate condition. Work should be organised around protection, circulation routes and continued use of the property.

THE WORK IN DETAIL

Looking beyond the colour of a facade.

Exterior maintenance combines substrate, finish and access. Compare the CEP facade lime-plaster package with the actual area, the condition of the plaster and the arrangements for reaching it.

Materials, surfaces and preparation
01

A photograph of each elevation

Record each affected side, including balconies, windows, plinths and junctions. Identify detachment, stains and previous repairs. Detail photographs are useful alongside complete views: an isolated defect does not describe the condition of the entire facade.

02

Access and use of the surrounding space

Height, pedestrian routes, courtyards and adjoining areas affect organisation. State whether space is private or shared and which entrances must remain available. Scaffolding and other ancillary work need an explicit place in the proposal, according to the building’s circumstances.

03

Substrate and final result

The finish follows assessment of the plaster and junctions. Painting alone does not automatically include deep substrate repairs. Compare the system in the specification with observed defects, and identify any constraints on colour or materials before the offer is defined.

YOUR PROPERTY

Three useful details for your request

  • Which elevations and heights are involved?
  • How can the facade be accessed?
  • Are there previous repairs or elements to retain?
